Mayhem Aforethought, You Are There - August 19, 1973

by Kinky Friedman and The Texas Jewboys

Mayhem Aforethought is a unique time capsule that allows the listener to travel back to 1973 and hear an uncut performance of Kinky Friedman & The Texas Jewboys. Recorded at The Record Plant, a celebrated recording studio in Sausalito, CA, during a live KSAN radio broadcast on August 19, 1973; it is the only album known to exist that represents a complete outrageous show with the original band members. The uncensored interplay between Kinky and the Jewboys during the show is as entertaining as the 13 songs themselves. The original band members were; Little Jewford on keyboard, accordion, clavietta and kazoo; on rhythm guitar Billy Swan (who would go on to record the 1974 #1 hit single.... I Can Help); lead guitarist Wichita Culpepper, bassist Willie Fong Young and drummer Major Boles.
