Live! From The Cotton Club 1967

by Tommy Hancock

Recorded at the Cotton Club near Lubbock Texas this recording captures an era gone by and provides a glimpse of things that were to come. Tommy Hancock was in the house band in the 1940's and 50's and rebuilt the club when it burned in the 1960's. Touring bands from Bob Wills to Little Richard - Lefty Frizzell to Elvis Presley - Porter Wagoner to Stevie Ray Vaughan made this dance club famous. Also included is an interview with Tommy Hancock at the Buddy Holly Symposium in 2001. He speaks of his memories of the music scene around Lubbock beginning in the 1940's.
