The first Conjunto Aztlan CD paid homage to the political and social struggle of the 'movimiento chicano' and included various original songs with politically and socially conscious lyrics played in an eclectic mix of typical, as well as atypical, or progressive, conjunto syles. 'From Aztlan With Love' leaps forward to new rhythms and musical arrangements more heavily influenced by the Blues, Rhythmn-n-Blues, Jazz, as well as Salsa and Latino Jazz. Above all, these original songs are delivered in the two, three and four-part harmonies that Aztlan audiences have grown to expect and that complement a collection of songs devoted entirely to the politics of relationships.
