Longtime south Austin drummer-producer-sideman-studio ace Paul Pearcy adds another hyphen -- singer-songwriter -- to his credits.
Paul Pearcy has carved his niche in Texas music, having recorded with some of Texas' greatest musicians, including Terri Hendrix, Lloyd Maines, The Dixie Chicks, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Pat Green, and James McMurtry.
He also produced the recently released, critically acclaimed debut album from Idgy Vaughn, Origin Story -- recently rated the #1 Texas album of 2006 by The Austin Chronicle's Margaret Moser.
2007 sees Pearcy releasing his first CD, Come and Take It, featuring all original songs (with the exception of an upbeat cover of Townes Van Zandts' "To Live's to Fly"). Texas Music Magazine's Richard Skanse writes, "Naturally he enlists the services of some other A-list Austin sidemen, including Richard Bowden, Glenn Fukunaga and Bob Livingston, but Pearcy himself ably handles a lot more than drumsticks here.
