Lisa Richards

A melting pot of jazz, folk, blues,pop, rock and country - yielding honest, original, accessible music - her own brand of adventurous folk art.



Born and raised in the steamy tropics of Coastal Far North Eastern Australia, she lived in New York City for several years before finding a home in Austin Texas.
Lisa has received numerous acknowledgements of her songwriting skills. She’s been a finalist in The Billboard Song Contest, the Telluride Bluegrass Troubadour Competition, the Rocky Mountain Folks festival, the Chris Austin Songwriting contest at Merlefest and the Kerrville New Folk Competition.

Reviewers of her work have called her music "Spunky, brash, wise, powerful, and haunting”, and her voice "stunning" and "incomparable". She has been compared to Ben Harper, Ricki Lee Jones, Patty Griffin and Billie Holiday.

In 2006 she released her 4th CD titled “Mad Mad Love” . It was recorded In Brooklyn NY and in Austin Texas.
