Joe Montgomery has finally found a home in Austin, Texas. “I tried for years to end up here but something always seemed to pull me away”. Something like busking in the subways of London, or maybe that time he spent in the L.A music scene. Or maybe it was the years he spent crafting his sensitive and timeless songs up in the Texas high plains. “I think there is a reason so many good writers come from the Texas panhandle. I know when I was there, I found the core to all my songs, the root soul. It’s like that big empty plain just etches the songs with that relentless wind and endless sky". Big sky or not, Joe finally found his way to the songwriter haven of Austin, Texas.

“It’s the only music town that seems to value the song over the hype. I can travel anywhere here and find good musicians playing for the love of the song. There is live music at the grocery stores, at city hall meetings, everywhere. It feels like there is more oxygen in Austin. For a songwriter, it‘s just easier to breath.”.

Two Rooms is the first new CD to emerge from his migration to Austin. “I think the CD is a good reflection of Austin. There’s a little bit of everything in there”. From tastefully sensitive ballads to silly pop, there is a literacy and power to the music that proves that there is indeed room for one more talented songwriter in “The Live Music Capital Of The World”.
